Live today: Metastasis of the Cervical Lymph Nodes

Tonight we welcome the ENT department Tübingen!

Thursday, Nov. 29th 2018, 6pm:

Metastasis of the Cervical Lymph Nodes: Neck-Dissection

Prof. Löwenheim and his team will take care of a patient, diagnosed with an oropharyngeal carcinoma. The 54 year old man has had difficulties swallowing for the past two months. In the anamnesis, he claims to be a smoker and also HPV positive. The ENT specialist can palpate a mass during the physical examination, which is why he decided to also perform apparatus-based diagnostics. A biobsy is also taken. Finally, an oropharyngeal carcinoma with TNM status T2 / N1 + / M0 is revealed. Surgical removal of cervical lymphocytes is therefore indicated.

The following experts will discuss the case and/or perform the surgery:

University Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery Tübingen:
• Prof. Dr Hubert Löwenheim, Medical Director
• Dr Stephan Wolpert, Senior Consultant
• Dr Katharina Thum, Assistant Physician
Dr Thore Schade-Mann, Assistant Physician
in chat: Dr Georg Potthast
University Department of Radiology Tübingen, Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology:
• PD Dr Sergios Gatidis, Senior Consultant
