It's the final episode. We are excited to welcome guests from the University Department of Neurosurgery and Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Tübingen!

Thursday, December 19th 2019, 6pm:

Acute Brain Injury: Decompressive Hemicraniectomy

This week we will be joined by a young team:

Dr Stephan Herlan,  Specialist, University Department of Neurosurgery
Dr Isabel Gugel, Junior Doctor, University Department of Neurosurgery
Michael Maurer, Junior Doctor, Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology
Dr. Julian Zipfel, Junior Doctor, University Department of Neurosurgery
Jonas Engert, University Department of Neurosurgery
Case File:
Our future patient is riding his bike without a helmet and collides with a car. After the accident, he is unresponsive. The emergency doctor is called right away and has to intubate the patient. A further checkup shows no associated injuries (neither an A-, B-, C-, nor E-problem).
As soon as the patient has arrived in the trauma room, an emergency CT is made. This shows an epidural haematoma. Since the pupils also become unresponsive to light, surgery needs to be performed.
After this episode, we will all enjoy the holidays. We hope you had an amazin 2019 and that 2020 will be even better!
Until then,
Team Sectio
