Hand Trauma: Replantation & Reconstruction

Now in late spring, many people start working outside. Whether building a garden shed or preparing firewood for the winter, a circular saw is often involved. Our patient also worked with one. However, a single distraction was enough: He came to close to the saw and cut of parts of his left hand.

Due to professional care by first responders and the rescue service, it was possible to transport the patient to the BG Clinic in Tübingen very quickly. Here, our specialists start immediately with the complex and time-consuming operation.

In the OR, PD Dr Rothenberger will show the preparation of the wound and of the amputation, the osteosynthesis and the treatment of the pathways and tendons. At the same time, our guests will discuss the anatomy and radiology as well as the physiotherapeutic care of the complex hand region in the studio.

Prof. Dr Adrien Daigeler, medical director of the BG Clinic for Hand, Plastic, Reconstructive and Burn Surgery Tübingen
PD Dr Jens Rothenberger, consultant, BG Clinic for Hand, Plastic, Reconstructive and Burn Surgery Tübingen
PD Dr Fabian Springer, consultant, Department of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Tübingen
Mrs Gohlke, physiotherapist, BG Clinic Tübingen

In addition to our interdisciplinary team, we are pleased to announce that the patient whose case we will discuss tonight will be joining us to provide us with rare insights and answer your questions in chat.

In celebration of the final, we will also announce the winner of our contest (#howiwatchsc). You have not participated yet? You can still enter the contest until tomorrow and have the chance to win a complete set of Prometheus atlases. You can upload your picture until 7 pm to Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.
