Prof. Löwenheim and his team will take care of a patient, diagnosed with an oropharyngeal carcinoma. The 54 year old man has had difficulties swallowing for the past two months. In the anamnesis, he claims to be a smoker and also HPV positive. The ENT specialist can palpate a mass during the physical examination, which is why he decided to also perform apparatus-based diagnostics. A biobsy is also taken. Finally, an oropharyngeal carcinoma with TNM status T2 / N1 + / M0 is revealed. Surgical removal of cervical lymphocytes is therefore indicated.
